AvenueBaltimore MD 21228Main Purpose of Job:The main purpose of
this full-time contractual position, which is located in the
Maryland Department of Health's Office of Court Ordered Evaluations
and Placement, Justice Services Unit, is to complete 8-505
evaluations for individuals incarcerated at statewide DPSCS
facilities and detention centers. This position will work directly
with OCEP- Justice Services and DPSCS to see that the appropriate
level of care is offered to inmates that are in need of substance
use treatment and to respond to the judicial system when
needed.This position is eligible for hybrid telework. The position
will telework and/or in person at local detention centers or DPSCS
facilities. Some evening and weekend work is required.MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS:Education: Determined by the Maryland State Board of
Professional Counselors and Therapists under the requirements for
Certified Associate Counselors-Alcohol and Drug.Experience:
Determined by the Maryland State Board of Professional Counselors
and Therapists under the certification requirements for Certified
Associate Counselors-Alcohol and Drug.DESIRED OR PREFERRED
QUALIFICATIONS:The desired candidate should possess experience with
substance use disorders and treatment delivery, including
conducting substance use assessments as well as experience working
with the court system.LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS:1.
In accordance with Health Occupations Title 17 and Code of Maryland
Regulations 10.58.07, candidates must be certified by the Board of
Professional Counselors and Therapists as a Certified Associate
Counselor-Alcohol and Drug.2. Employees in this classification may
be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle.
Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor
vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.SPECIAL
REQUIREMENTS:Employees in this classification are subject to
substance abuse testing in accordance with Code of Maryland
Regulations 17.04.09, Testing for Illegal Use of Drugs.SELECTION

education, training and experience as they relate to the
requirements of the position. Therefore, it is essential that you

State agencies.BENEFITS:Contractual employees who work for an
agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and
Welfare Benefits Program, have a current employment contract and
work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month)
may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for
themselves and their dependents. As a contractual employee, you
will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical
and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you
have enrolled. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining
75% of the cost for these benefits. You can also elect to enroll in
dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and
life insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium for
these benefits.Leave may be granted to a contractual employee who
has worked 120 days in a 12 month period. This leave accrues at a
rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed 40 hours
